古時候有一種叫年的怪獸，每年12月30日，年都會到村子里吃人，它跑得比風還快，叫聲比雷還響。
有一次，一個外地人來到一個村子里，一個人都沒看見，他自言自語的說：“大白天的'怎么一個人都沒有”。他走到一戶人家門前敲了敲門，問有沒有人在家，屋里的老人聽到敲門的聲音問“是誰呀?”他回答：“我是外地人，路過這里想借宿一晚。”老人看是一個年輕人就開門讓他進去了，他問老人家大白天的怎么一個人也沒有，老人家對年輕人說：“我們這個地方有一種怪獸叫做年，每到12月30日晚上都回到村子里捉人。”年輕人聽老人說完，忙告訴老人家，你們不用擔心了，我知道年怕什么了，年怕三樣東西，一樣是紅色的火，一樣是火炮，一樣是對聯。老人聽完，召集村民們，告訴他們這三樣東西，村民們聽完后，有的到家里拿對聯粘在門上，有的在鐵盒子里面生火，還有的把鞭炮掛在棍子上，到了春節的時候，年來到村子里，看見家家戶戶都有紅色的東西，撒腿就跑了。

中國有許多的傳統節日，我最喜歡春節。因為春節十分的熱鬧，而且我覺得在這新的一年里，小孩子們才是最開心的，他們一聽到春節來了，臉上就洋溢著喜悅的笑容。
在大年三十的前一天，我的家人們就開始忙著準備食材，來迎接新的一年的.到來。在這喜氣洋洋的春節里，我跟著公公、婆婆還學會了不少本領呢！公公先教我貼春聯，貼春聯是要用漿糊來固定位置，然后再貼橫聯，再貼左右兩邊，這樣春聯就貼好了。
接下來，包餃子是我們家一起動手來做的。婆婆先教我和面，首先把兩碗面粉和半碗水倒進一個盆子里，然后再用手把它們攪拌均勻揉成面團。我又著急又興奮，結果弄得滿手滿臉都是面粉，像個小雪人，姐姐在旁邊看著我哈哈大笑。我和姐姐把軟軟的面團放在桌子上，搓一搓、揉一揉，讓它變成一根又細又長的小面條，用手捏下大小差不多的小面團，再用搟面杖搟成圓圓的餃子皮。經過一道道的步驟，我們大家終于可以包餃子了，婆婆叫我先把餃子皮放在手心上，把肉餡放在餃子皮的中間，然后把餃子皮對折在中間按一下，再從兩邊一點一點用力捏，這樣美味的餃子就成功包好了。小小的餃子并不聽話，一會兒肉餡冒出來了，一會兒皮又捏破了，忙活了半天，餃子終于一個一個都包好了，意味著新的一年喜慶團圓，吉祥如意。
晚上，全家人圍坐在一起，吃著團圓飯，歡聲笑語不斷。大家都沉浸在幸福之中，愉快的一天就過完了。

在中國，春節習俗是多彩多樣的。不光在衣著。住房有講究，就連吃的食物上也有許多含義。比如：吃圓粉，代表團團圓圓；吃火鍋，說明紅紅火火；吃魚，寓意年年有余；最后一道甜食，祝福往后日子甜甜蜜蜜。
大年三十，家家戶戶貼春聯，那么，你知道春聯的由來嗎？相傳古代過年時，人們在桃符上題詞，稱“題桃符”。一般都是如：“姜太公在此，百無禁忌”或“有令在此，諸惡遠避”等壓邪話或符咒。后來，有人在題桃符基礎上題聯語，聯語都是些吉家話語，對仗工整，長短對等。王安石有詩句：“總把新桃換舊符。”明代時，才將桃符改為春聯。
接著，大年三十晚上十二點，壓歲夜是不能睡的，就十二點給小孩壓歲錢，象征著一生平平安安。“壓歲錢”三字本來應該寫作“壓祟錢”。因為傳說，古時候有一種身黑手白的小妖，名叫“祟”，經常在大年三十夜里出來害人，他用手在熟睡的孩子頭上摸三下，孩子嚇得哭起來，然后就發燒。病好了之后，聰明機靈的孩子就變成了癡呆瘋癲的`傻子。家中的尊長就會用紅線穿上銅錢掛在小孩胸前，銅錢的數目與小孩的歲數相同。因為歲與祟字同音，壓歲就是壓祟，所以民間認為這樣做可以壓邪驅鬼。明清時期，壓歲錢大多是用紅繩串著給孩子。民國以后，則演變成用紅紙包一百文銅元，其意為“長命百歲”；給已成年的晚輩壓歲錢，紅紙包的是一枚大洋，象征著“財源茂盛”。“一本萬利”。
