It's not the violence or action sequences that make this movie so great (although they are well done...), but rather moments like where Mathilda knocks on Leon's door. It would be so easy to just film the door opening, but instead we see light illuminating Natalie Portman's face, symbolizing something angelic. And the moment has so much more meaning.

I know a lot of people who have seen this film because they are action fans. I'm not. But I'm glad I finally found it, because it's a wonderful film in so many other ways.

what makes this story great? i must say that this is one of the most realistic movies i saw. watching it is just like hearing an orphan telling about his hardships and struggles on the streets.

the violence, the emotions, the realms of a third world country, and the beauty of love regardless of any situation was nicely presented on the movie. it also showed the kind of life the slams of india has - the children, the women, and the heartless adults. the nicest thing that i like about the movie is the light after dark part.

Gary Oldman, as the corrupt DEA Agent Norman Stansfield, offers the viewers an amazingly wired and electrical performance which pushes the envelope. He moves the story along by his actions. Oldman offers us a memorable portrait of a sadistically obsessed man who stops short of nothing to get what he wants.

The Professional is what movie-making is all about. Without the overuse of special effects, a large shooting location, or a commercially star studded cast, we are given all that could possibly be asked for in a movie. Portman, Oldman, and Reno, along with Danny Aiello as the hit-contractor Tony remind us that there is no substitute for great acting. There are elements of comedy, drama, and action, and great original music by Eric Serra adds to the energy the film already encapsulates. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. 怦然心動英語觀后感

There are moments in adolescence when your feelings about romance turn on a dime. Maybe it's hormonal.

The girl you thought was a pest becomes the object of your dreams. The boy you've had a crush on for years begins to seem like a jerk. The timing is off. Sometimes you can look back half a lifetime and see how things might have happened differently if you hadn't been so stupid. Rob Reiner's "Flipped" does the looking.

Here is a lovely movie about a girl who has adored a boy ever since he moved into the neighborhood in the second grade. She even likes his smell, and it is true we cannot love someone who isn't aromatic to our hearts.

All through grade school and into high school, she pursues him; they're like the runners in Keats' “Ode on a Grecian Urn” who pursue each other for eternity without ever drawing closer. In Reiner's film, they flip and start running in the other direction.

Madeline Carroll plays Juli Baker, who was determined to get Bryce Loski (Callan McAuliffe) to like her when they were kids, but in eighth grade has turned her attention to more urgent matters, like sparing the life of the beautiful sycamore tree in her front yard

It is threatened with being chopped down by the forces of evil, and she climbs it and won't come down. That shows some character, muses Bryce's grandfather Chet (John Mahoney). If he were Bryce, he'd notice a girl like that. Bryce begins to catch on.

There are difficulties and the possibility of heartbreak. There always are in high school. You wear your sleeve on your heart. There are parents. Not everybody has parents like "Juno" did. If Juno had ordinary parents, her story would be a grim morality play. But "Flipped" doesn't haul in standard parents of teenagers

. Reiner wisely casts gifted actors (Aidan Quinn and Penelope Ann Miller as the Bakers, and Anthony Edwards and Rebecca De Mornay as the Loskis). He knows that Mahoney can save a wise grandfather from cornball with sheer brute force of niceness.

There's a screenplay device by Reiner and Andrew Scheinman, based on the novel by Wendelin Van Draanan, that could be arduous but works here because it has been thought through. The key events in the film are seen from both points of view: Bryce's and Juli's.

Teenagers often lose the beat emotionally, and these two need John Philip Sousa. There isn't trickery: The scenes happen as they seem to, and not in alternate universes. But they seem so different, depending on who is seeing them.

There's one of those events so beloved by teenage girls in which they can exact excruciating embarrassment on boys while seeming to be blithely unaware. The boys are auctioned off to the girls as lunch room partners to raise money for charity.

Yeah, that's what a guy wants, to stand onstage while the most patronizing teacher in the school handles the bidding. Of course, it all goes tragically wrong for Juli and Bryce, but for what seems like different reasons.

Reiner sets most of the movie in 1963 (his classic "Stand by Me," is set a few years earlier, in 1959), and I don't think it's just for nostalgia. In a way, that's the last year of American teenage innocence, before the '60s took hold. Madeline Carroll and Callan McAuliffe, who both look teeth-achingly vulnerable, are sincere and pure and wholesome, and are characters we believe can be hurt.

Some of today's teenagers are more wounded and cynical than their parents ever were. And for some of them sex is not an undiscovered country.

Maybe what makes "Flipped" such a warm entertainment is how it re-creates a life we wish we'd had when we were 14. That's true for adults, and also I suspect true for some 14-year-olds. In a way the audience flips, too.

The crown jewel of 1995's summer blockbusters appears to have arrived early。 It's hard to imagine any motion picture released between now and August matching Mel Gibson's Braveheart for spectacle。 With its clashing armies， heartstopping action， and grand sense of romance， this is the sort of film it's a pleasure to see and review。

Let me state my preferences up front。 I'm a big fan of the epic adventure， a category in which Braveheart， like cream， rises to the top。 There's a lot in this film that's praiseworthy -- not the least of which is its ambition。 Those viewing this picture may be easily reminded of Gettysburg， The Last of the Mohicans， Glory， and such classics as Lawrence of Arabia， El Cid， and Spartacus。 The grandeur is certainly present; nevertheless， Gibson gives us not only memorable battles， but characters of real substance。

Borrowing from masters like Sam Peckinpah and David Lean， the actor/director has crafted an exceptional cinematic tapestry in only his sophomore effort。 Most of the time， three hour movies have a few flat spots， but Braveheart is constantly on the move -- riveting from start to finish。 When the end credits began to roll， I was hard pressed to accept that nearly 170 minutes had elapsed。

The title character is William Wallace （Gibson）， a hero of Scottish history whose legend has surely outstripped fact （in its own unique way， the film acknowledges this）。 Wallace fought for Scotland's freedom in the late 13th century， wielding his broadsword and influence to defeat the forces of King Edward I （Patrick McGoohan）， the British monarch who had declared himself king of Scotland upon the former ruler's demise。

Braveheart builds slowly to its first gritty climax。 Much of the early film concentrates on Wallace's love for Murron （Catherine McCormack）。Their courtship is unhurried， yet this is all preparation。 The real meat of the story， which includes political mechanations， betrayal， and dramatic battles， is yet to e。 Patrick Henry once said， "Give me liberty， or give me death!" That might well be Wallace's motto。 "It's all for nothing if you don't have freedom!" The nobles of Scotland fight for land and riches， but Wallace stands for the individual， and earns respect with words and deeds。

Bulked up and wearing a long-haired wig， Gibson brings his usual wealth of charisma to the title role。 Patrick McGoohan， best known from TV's Secret Agent Man and The Prisoner， is almost unrecognizable beneath a snowy beard。 His Edward the Longshanks exudes an aura of cold menace。 He's a worthy foe for Wallace because his intelligence matches his ruthlessness。 Sophie Marceau， the French actress who plays Princess Isabelle， and Catherine McCormack are both immensely appealing。

although life may throw us trials and tribulations like a box of chocolates, we just have to bite into it and get through it even if we don't like it. i just love this movie. and anyone who hasn't seen it or who thinks that don't like it i seriously suggest seeing it or seeing it again.

and the music is wonderful, the songs are beautiful and catchy but not cheesy. the story line has more of a twist, in that the dream doesn't come true right when the slipper fits. if you love fairy tales and whimsical romances, this is the perfect movie for you.
