It takes a little hard work at first toremember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very littletrouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.

If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very muchlike a mirror: if you smile upon it, I smile back upon you; but if you frown andlook doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return.

Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that comein contact with it. “who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out fromlove.”

Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the solepurpose of life, I would, if I were a boy again, I would still try harder tomake others happy.

i am happy to be here today,to discuss with you one of the most important issues facing china in the 21st century-the relationship between ecology,touri** and learning. but that relationship has to be seen in a larger context. china has the vision of achieving a well-off society in an all around way.

we know that we can’t follow the strategy used by other countries in the past. at united nations world summit on the world economy,ex premier zhu rongji said economic development and environmental protection are interlinked and can not be separated from each other. he also said,that a new pattern that conserves resources and guarantees a clean environment must replace the traditional pattern.

that new pattern is called sustainable development. it also implies a new life style,which is ecotouri**. to me,it means eco-minded people,engaged in outdoor activities.

it is nothing less than the harmony between people and nature,therefore,we have to make wise decisions as we develop tourist sites. skiing on white,powdery snow makes people feel great,but if building a ski lift destroys the habitat,then we should not do it. lying on the warm sand of a beach with the blazing sun above is relaxing,but if it is a nesting beach for sea turtles,then we should not do it.

analyzing our behaviors in nature,we see the problems poor sanitation, poor transportation,poor ac***modation,and poor translation of useful information! and the clutter and chaos of vendors. that is why ecotouri** is critical.

and that is why we must learn through ecotouri** about how to keep the balance of nature. in my vision of future,people will feel happy to be responsible for the environment. tourist site will be clean,traffic will be orderly, tour guide will be well informed,signs will be accurate,vendors will be respectful.

then the millions of tourists visit china each year,will return to their homes not only with a deep appreciation of china,but also with new respect for the environment as well. let me tell you my personal experience,on the 3rd of october 2000 . i was traveling with a large group of people in inner mongolia.

many people got frustrated. some of them were even quarreling. the atmosphere was be***ing tense.

at our destination we got out of the cars,went to the edge of the lake,and then there was a transformation. the color of the lake was that kind of blue that gently touched your heart. mountains stood silently at the horizon.

suddenly it seemed like the sun blinked,several rays of light came out of the clouds and then the sun sank into the lake. i looked around and saw several guys had tears in their eyes because of that beautiful moment. others gave each each other hugs,f***etting the quarrels they had just had.

i stared at the lake,for the first time in my life ,i found a great peace in nature. the peace that can erase anger and misunderstanding. this experience taught me how the peace in nature has an in fluence over people.

and if people could bring all these wonderful feelings back home. then if could contribution to the harmony in society. i believe it is time to make a fundamental change in our economic development strategy which will be the hallmark of human civilization at this new historical stage.

and ecotouri** is the way to keep the delicate balance between what we have and who we are. thus,ecology improves touri**,and touri** improves learning,and what we learn,is how to achieve the vision of harmony and peace between humanity and nature.

接下來，便是選材的時候了。你對演講方式的決定并不影響你對材料的選擇。筆者認為，選擇英語演講材料是早晨選擇一些散文的最大禁忌。這種散文有一種特點，斷句短，一段沒有幾句就結束了。

這類文章適合記憶，但不適合演講。

最好從你自己的經歷或一個小故事開始。因為評委觀眾的水平層次高低分層很大，此時的開頭一定要用詞簡單，文法也不易過雜，當然也不能只用類似只有主謂賓的句子。當人們能夠理解的時候，他們愿意傾聽。

當然，文章的開頭和結尾一定很吸引人。開頭不妨用三四個排比的問句，以問句引出正文，最后結尾再用幾個排比的陳述來說明自己的建議或看法。

筆者十分建議在演講稿中出現排比形式，因為排比句讀起來比較有氣勢，也更好把握語調。一般來說，前幾個逗號前的句子是升調，最后一個句子是降調。

演講中一定要注意斷句和音調。沒一個人喜歡聽一段沒有斷句而且平淡無奇的演講，因此，要做好演講就因該將感情同語言聯系起來，這樣的演講才有靈魂。

接下來就是一些演講小技巧：演講中一定要注意眼神交流，尤其和評委的眼神交流;不要怕忘詞，忘詞了也要繼續背下去;身體要站直，要有肢體動作，但一定不要來回晃或者抖腿。

classifying rubbish , improving environment

good morning, respectable judges, teachers. today, standing here makes me feel really honored and excited. the title of my speech is classifying rubbish , improving environment.

personally, rubbish has been a big headache in beijing. as

the year 2008 is ***ing ,every citizen has realized green beijing and green olympics will bring the far-reaching impact on beijing and even all china . the scense of rubbish nearly everywhere has given all of us a really bad impression, and i'm sure none of us wish to show off the bad side of beijing to athletes and journalists all over the world, for it would blemish the city's and even china's image and leave a bad reputation. so we really have to work hard on green olympics.

now, we are middle school students. we must improve the sense of protecting the environment and make a contribution to green olympics .

in our life, a lot of rubbish , such as waste *****, plastic bottles ,batteries and so on , is produced every day . after we learnt the passage make our environment more beautiful , we found a lot of rubbish thrown into dustbins could be recycled in fact during our discussion. so we thought it would be better if we could classify rubbish .

we told our idea to our teacher and he supported us very much . we became volunteers to classify rubbish . firstly we got three big boxes and put them in a corner of our classroom .

one is for waste ***** , one for plastics and coke cans and the other is for batteries . with teacher's help ,soon all the students took part in the activity of classifying rubbish .in a month , we collected three boxes of ***** , a box of batteries and a box of plastics and coke cans .

we sold them for 28 yuan and bought some young trees with the money . we planted the trees around our school . we were all spoken highly of by our school principals.

now we keep on the job and are all proud of improving environment .

the world trusts beijing .beijing still has a lot to do to reach the level the world expects, but we have the confidence to make beijing a green city. great changes are taking place, and not far in the future, beijing will be the focus of all worlds' attention.

we'll grasp the opportunity and do our best to make the sky blue

r, water greener and air fresher by the year 2008.

垃圾分類，改善環境

尊敬的評委、老師們，你們好！有幸站在這里，我感到是一種榮耀，我此時的心情非常激動。我演講的主題是：垃圾分類，改善環境！

應該說，垃圾問題一直是我們的大問題。隨著2008年的臨近，每一個市民都深切地意識到"綠色北京，綠色奧運"對北京乃至中國將有著多么深遠的影響！幾乎到處都是垃圾的景象給我們留下了深刻的印象。

我相信沒有一個中國人愿意把北京不好的印象留給來自世界各地的參賽隊員和新聞記者，因為它會嚴重損壞北京乃至中國的形象和聲譽。因此，我們必須致力于建設綠色奧運的目標。

我們現在是中學生。從現在起，我們必須提高環保意識，為2008年綠色奧運做出貢獻。

在我們的生活中，每天都會產生很多垃圾，如廢紙、塑料瓶、可樂罐、電池等等。在我們學習 "美化環境"這篇課文時，我和幾個同學在討論時發現許多扔進垃圾桶里面的垃圾實際上是可以**的。所以我們想如果我們能把垃圾分類就好了。

我們把這個想法告訴了班主任，得到了老師的大力支持。所以我們成為了垃圾分類的志愿者。首先我們找到三個大盒子，把他們放在教室的一角。

一個用于廢紙，一個用于塑料制品和可樂罐，一個用于收集舊電池。在老師的幫助下，全班同學很快就參加了垃圾分類活動。一個月內，我們收集了三盒廢紙、一盒電池和一盒塑料瓶。

這些垃圾賣28元。我們用這些錢買了一些小樹，在學校周圍種上。我們的行動受到學校領導的高度贊揚。現在我們仍然堅持垃圾分類活動，我們為我們改善環境的努力感到驕傲！

世界認為，北京要實現世界對北京的期望，還有很多工作要做。但我們有信心把北京建設成綠色城市。現在北京的面貌正在改變。我相信在不久的將來，北京將成為世界的焦點。

我們將抓住這個機會，并為之努力。在2008年之前，我們將使北京的天空更藍，水更綠，空氣更清新！

hello my dear judges and my friendly audience,

today my topic is how to survive from a cobble stone world? after i got the title “what we cannot afford to lose ?’ i have thought lots of answers.

for example, health ,wealth, friends, youth and so on. it’s hard to choose the right answer, but when i take every answer in my mind into consideration, i have found that personality became the answer that i prefer, so that why i chose the title ‘how to survive from the cobble stone world ? ’

after put forward the question ,what ***es into our mind? when we received the education from primary school, middle school, high school, even university, we gradually lose our personality, and we eventually be***e a cobble stone, without an edge and a corner. is that the result we want ?

obviously, no! and that’s why i want to stand on this stage, and share my view with everybody here. before i participated this english speech contest.

someone even discouraged that your major is japanese .the english speech contest is none of your business. but i responsed that it’s my interest, it’s my love.

thought i’m a japanese major ,i still can speak fluent english . besides, i want to be an outstanding man.

though we have our own majors, we still can stand out in other fiels. you are going to be doctors in the future, you also can be a good writer, you are going to be nurses in the future, you also can be an excellent interpreter, you are going to be druggists in the future, you also can be a great singer.

we should know that we are the only gemstone in this world, not just a ***mon cobble stone. once heard a saying, to be outstanding, just stand out. dose everybody here want to be outstanding?

yes or no? so next time, chase the chance, and show us your talent.

the value of life .life is formed by many stages of time. so we should make good use of time.

a proverb says, "time is money." but in my opinion, time is even more precious than money. why?

because when money is spent, we can earn it back. however, when time is gone, it will never return. this is the reason why we must value time.

it goes without saying that the time for our study and work is unusually limited. hence, even an hour is extremely precious. we should make full use of our time to do useful things.

as a student, i must make efforts to engage in my study so as to serve our nation and people in the future. but it is a pity that there. are a lot of people who do not know the importance of time.

they do not realize that wasting time is equal to wasting a part of their valuable life. in a word, we should form the good habit of saving time. do not put off what can be done today till tomorrow.

laziness will not only bring us failure but also lead us to the road of poverty. and this is the value of life.

it wasn't all romantic. i didn't have a dorm room, so i slept on the floor in friends' rooms, i returned coke bottles for the 5 deposits to buy food with, and i would walk the 7 miles across town every sunday night to get one good meal a week at the hare krishna temple. i loved it.

and much of what i stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. let me give you one example:

again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. so you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. you have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

this approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

再次說明的是,你在向前展望的時候不可能將這些片斷串連起來；你只能在回顧的時候將點點滴滴串連起來。所以你必須相信這些碎片總有一天會聚集在一起。你必須要相信某些東西：

你的勇氣、目的、生命、因緣。這個過程從來沒有讓我失望，只是為了讓我的生活更加不同。

my third story is about death.

我的第三個故事是關于死亡的。

when i was 17, i read a quote that went something like: "if you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." it made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, i have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself:

"if today were the last day of my life, would i want to do what i am about to do today?" and whenever the answer has been "no" for too many days in a row, i know i need to change something.

當我十七歲的時候, 我讀到了一句話:“如果你把每一天都當作生命中最后一天去生活的話,那么有一天你會發現你是正確的。”這句話給我留下了深刻的印象。

從那時開始,過了33年,我在每天早晨都會對著鏡子問自己:“如果今天是我生命中的最后一天, 你會不會完成你今天想做的事情呢？”當答案連續很多次被給予“不是”的時候, 我知道自己需要改變某些事情了。

remembering that i'll be dead soon is the most important tool i've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. because almost everything – all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarras**ent or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. remembering that you are going to die is the best way i know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.

you are already naked. there is no reason not to follow your heart.

“記住你即將死去”是我一生中遇到的最重要箴言。它幫助我指出我生活中的重要選擇。因為幾乎所有的事情，包括所有的榮譽，所有的驕傲，所有對尷尬和失敗的恐懼，都會在死前消失。

我所看到的才是真正重要的。你有時候會思考你將會失去某些東西,“記住你即將死去”是我知道的避免這些想法的最好辦法。你已經**了。你沒有理由不追隨你的心。

about a year ago i was diagnosed with cancer. i had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas.

i didn't even know what a pancreas was. the doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that i should expect to live no longer than three to six months. my doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die.

it means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. it means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. it means to say your goodbyes.

at the beginning of my speech, i would like to share a true story about me.

when you exposure to a new place, will you feel nervous? my answer is sure. the first day i seat into the chair in front of a ***puter, i have not well prepared for this new role in my life.

however, life is formed by various of decisions. so does my life. the second day, before i ***ing to the office, i said to me in the mirror:

believing yourself, you can make the change. looking at me in the mirror, i felt that i was full of confidence and passion. nothing is impossible!

i can do it ! what i just need was confidence!

with such a feeling, something seemed difficult, had be***e ****** in that morning. i know the positive attitude works. sometimes it seems so funny.

when you are afraid of it, it just like a huge mountain locating in your front, but once you make the first step with courage, you will find that no matter how difficult it was but this.

i have been here for 3 weeks, during this process, i felt the harmony relationship and the love from cpoe, this big family, the man who has a negative attitude can not feel such a atmosphere of unity. here ,i just want to say, whatever you do, whenever you do, confidence is essential in your life. confidence, the same as the success.

25days, i can learn more about our ***pany, unlimited happiness and dynamics promote **pc move forward forever. i am confident that **pc will step into a world-class integrated international energy ***pany. i can feel the confidence of everyone, and you ?

在演講之前，我想和你分享一個關于我自己的真實故事。

作為一個新人，當我踏入中石油的時候，我的生活翻開了新的篇章。新人，新環境，新關系，我不知道我將來會面對什么，一切都是未知的. 當你置身到一個新地方，你會感到緊張嗎？

我的回答是肯定的。第一天，當我坐在電腦前的椅子上，面對人生中的新角色時，我還沒有準備好。只是覺得我還是一個普通的學生，復雜的情感讓我感到痛苦和孤獨。

然而，生活是由許多決定組成的。我的生活也是如此。第二天，在我來到辦公室之前，我對著鏡子對自己說：

相信自己，你會成功。看著鏡子里滿是堅毅的眼神，我感到充滿了自信和激情。沒有什么是不可能的！

我能行！我只需要帶著自信！

帶著這樣的感覺，今天早上似乎什么困難都變得簡單了。我知道積極態度起作用了。有時事情看起來很有趣。

當你害怕它時，它就像一個巨大的山樹立在你前面，當你鼓起勇邁出第一步，你會發現，無論多么困難，也不過如此。

this is a glass of water, tasteless, right? however if you add sugar, it will taste sweet, but if you add vinegar, it will be***e bitter. the same is true with our life the flavor is created by our choices.

so my dear friends, never ***plain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. if don’t like the taste of your life, change the ingredients

as you slowly open your eyes, look around, notice where the light ***es into your room; listen carefully, see if there are new sounds you can recognize; feel with your body and spirit, and see if you can sense the freshness in the air.

yes, it’s a new day, it’s a different day, and it’s a bright day! and most importantly, it is a new beginning for your life, a beginning where you are going to make new desicisions, take new actions, make new friends, and take your life to a totally unprecedented level!

if kindness is added to a strange you will have a friend; but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy. if love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp.

so my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance are added to your life, you will find the confidence for your life.

改變生活的味道

這是一杯白開水。很平淡，不是嗎？可是加上點糖呢，他嘗起來會有甜味；如果你加蘇打水，它會很苦的。人生同樣如此—— 個中滋味在于我們的選擇。

善待他人，你會擁有朋友；但如果充滿惡意，就會有很多敵人。把愛獻給一堆紅磚，你就會有一個家；用仇恨鑄造這堆紅磚，會成為一個集中營。

請想想；每個孩子都是一顆花的種子，只不過是每個人的花期不同，有的花，一開始就會很燦爛地綻放，有的花需要漫長的等待，不要看著別人的花綻放了，自己的那一顆還沒有動靜就著急，相信是花，都有自己的花期，細心地，呵護自己的花，慢慢地看著長大，陪著他她沐欲陽光風雨，這何嘗不是一種幸福，也許有的種子永遠不會開花，因為他是參天大樹。

所以親愛的朋友們，不要抱怨生活枯燥無望。不喜歡生活的味道，那就改變生活的情趣吧！
